SISA Expands Cybersmart Bharat Programme Nationwide

The programme targets cybersecurity training for 25,000 marginalised students across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

SISA, a Bengaluru-based global Cybersecurity company, announced the expansion of Cybersmart Bharat, its flagship CSR initiative, taking the programme beyond city boundaries into underserved rural regions across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The next phase of SISA targets engagement with 25,000+ students by March 31, 2026.

Launched in July 2025, the Cybersmart Bharat programme has trained nearly 13,000 students across schools in Bengaluru through structured and interactive sessions. The initiative addresses key digital challenges such as online safety, cyber hygiene, identity protection and responsible technology use, with a focus on practical and relatable awareness for young users.

Speaking on the expansion, Dharshan Shanthamurthy, Founder and CEO, SISA, said, “Cybersmart Bharat was conceived as more than a one-time campaign. It is a long-term movement that must evolve alongside India’s digital growth. As technology reaches deeper into our communities, resilience has to begin with awareness, especially among the young.”

To support the next phase of the initiative, SISA has partnered with Unnati, a non-governmental organisation focused on community engagement and youth development. The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 19, 2026, in the presence of the SISA Board of Directors and Unnati CEO Ramesh Swamy, underscoring their shared commitment to scaling the programme responsibly.

“The youth will understand the importance of cybersecurity. They will be the people who will talk to their families and make sure that “Cybersmart Bharat” becomes an integral part of their houses, in their villages, in their families, said Mr Ramesh Swamy, CEO, Unnati.

The programme targets cybersecurity training for 25,000 marginalised students across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The expanded programme will continue to build cyber awareness and hygiene among students while introducing them to cybersecurity as a field.
