RBL Bank’s Head Of Digital Resigns, To Pursue Opportunities Outside The Organisation

Pushpendra Sharma, Head - Digital Banking Unit of RBL Bank has moved on. He tendered his resignation on September 30, 2025, and was relieved by the bank on December 30, RBL Bank informed in a filing to the bourses.

Pushpendra Sharma, Head - Digital Banking Unit of RBL Bank has moved on. He tendered his resignation on September 30, 2025, and was relieved by the bank on December 29, RBL Bank informed in a filing to the bourses. Sharma, without revealing details of his next venture said, he isn’t joining any company, speaking with FECIO. The bank said Sharma’s replacement will be somebody from within the bank.

As the Head of the Digital Banking Unit, Sharma was responsible for digital payments, liabilities, lending and digital channels.

RBL Bank in the filing said, “Mr. Pushpendra Sharma, Head - Digital Banking Unit and reporting to Chief Information Officer, being part of Senior Management of the Bank had tendered his resignation in order to pursue opportunities outside the Bank and has been relieved on December 29, 2025.” 

‘Ample Leadership Depth’ For Replacement

Sharma is starting his own venture however without sharing any concrete plans, he said there are few ideas that he has shortlisted. 

The bank announced, “The portfolio managed by Mr. Sharma was brought under Technology function in November 2024 and there is ample leadership depth within the Bank to manage the portfolio.” 

In the resignation letter addressed to the Human Resources Head Vishal Kukreja and the Chief Information Officer Ravi Pichan, Pushpendra Sharma said, “After a very satisfying Professional journey of ~11.5 years in RBL bank, I wish to resign from the post of Head- Digital Banking Unit. Pls consider the date from resignation as 30 September 2025. I am thankful to the Board of Directors for their Guidance and Directions, Senior Management colleagues and fellow RBL employees for their consistent support over the years. Regards, Pushpendra Sharma Head-Digital Banking Unit.”

When asked about the highlights of his close to 11.5 year stint at RBL Bank, Sharma said, “I am satisfied to have built the bank brick-by-brick and built various functions.” Notably Sharma joined the bank and worked as head of compliance for the first seven years. He worked as Head Of Digital Banking Unit for the rest of his stint of about 5.5 years at RBL Bank.
