Exotel and Agora have teamed up to offer a scalable and secure voice automation solution, combining Exotel’s AgentStream with Agora’s real-time AI technology to boost customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Agora Inc. (NASDAQ: API), the real-time engagement technologies firm, has joined forces with Customer Engagement platform firm Exotel to offer the larger-scale voice experience using AI to Indian and Gulf companies.
The alliance operates on the programmable voice streaming platform of Exotel so that its Conversational AI Engine of Agora runs natural, human-like conversation across several voice and digital channels without having to manage complex connectivity or telephony infrastructure.
Exotel's AgentStream platform interfaces AI bots to customers through PSTN, WhatsApp, in-app, and WebRTC channels. Through the integration of its own Conversational AI Engine by Agora, the service gives enterprises the possibility of scaling automated real-time customer conversation.
To date, having over 7000 business customers across industries such as BFSI, logistics, e-commerce, healthcare, and education, Exotel already handles over 25 billion conversations annually. With the new partnership, these business customers will have a secure, scalable, and intelligent AI infrastructure that will better their customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Agora and Exotel jointly pursue 50-100 billion voice interactions yearly led by artificial intelligence, supporting the automation of between 30% and 40% of repetitive queries and the reduction of operational expenses by approximately 30%. Those objectives are supported by initial pilot projects and local market statistics that indicate voice automation lowers the handling time notably while the customer experience improves.
“Enterprises today are seeking scalable and intelligent AI solutions that can deliver human-like customer experiences in real time. Our partnership with Exotel combines the strengths of Agora’s Conversational AI Engine with Exotel’s robust programmable voice infrastructure, making it easier for enterprises to deploy AI agents that enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency,” said Tony Zhao, CEO and Co-founder of Agora.
The alliance is a key milestone in business voice AI adoption in high-growth countries such as India and the Middle East, providing organisations access to highly automated and highly personalised customer engagement.
Agora's Conversational AI Engine allows developers to create natural AI voice agents using any big language model (LLM). Backed by the real-time engagement (RTE) network of Agora, the agents respond with ultralow latency and smoothly interrupt in noisy or poor-connection scenarios.
