Vineet Bhardwaj joins Mahindra Holidays as CTO, to report directly to CEO

Godrej Properties’ Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) Vineet Bhardwaj has joined Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL), the company reported in its exchange filing. He will serve as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Mahindra Group’s leisure and hospitality arm. Speaking exclusively to FE CIO, Bhardwaj informed he will report directly to the CEO Manoj Bhat. 

MHRIL is a leading hospitality and leisure company, it reported an income of 1,545 Cr in the financial year 2024-25. 

Role at MHRIL

As per the exchange filing by MHRIL dated August 28 Bhardwaj has been designated as the Senior Management Personnel of the Company, “Based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company have vide resolution passed today i.e. August 28, 2025, approved the appointment of Mr. Vineet Bhardwaj, as the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Management Personnel of the Company with effect from September 01, 2025.” 

Vineet Bhardwaj speaking with FE CIO on his role says, “The intent and message is clear: we need to be best-in-class in the hospitality space and technology will be the key enabler in that journey. Whether it’s AI, digital transformation, modernizing applications, or cloud adoption, the focus is on scaling up swiftly and delivering exceptional business outcomes.,” further adding there is no separate Chief Information Officer (CIO) at MHRIL.

When asked about the size of the Information Technology team he will lead, Bhardwaj says, “It’s a strong group of over 100 talented professionals, with teams spread across India.” Without divulging any details, Bhardwaj informed about a “detailed meeting” with Mahindra Group CTO Mohit Kapoor. He says, “That’s the advantage of being part of the Mahindra Group—there are natural synergies we can leverage.”

A qualified Chartered Accountant (rank holder) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, he brings a rare blend of financial acumen and technological expertise to the table. 

Throughout his career, he has held key leadership roles at renowned organizations including Gas Authority of India, Marico Ltd., RGMS, Aegis Ltd. and most recently served as the Chief Digital & Information Officer at Godrej Properties Limited.
